underground, water in basement

I bought a house that the previous owner had dug a hole in the corner of the basement and put in a sumppump for drainage and the washer also drain into and it is pumped up into the sewerpipe , it smells and keeps my basement damp,what can I do for the smell, I,ve tried pouring in bleach and other cleaners but still have smell, can,t take it out do to underground water, help
