I am remoldling my bathroom, when I removed the floor the flange for the toilet broke. Its cast iron, can you seperate the joints, if so whats the easiest way, should I replace it with another cast iron flange or use plastic. I would like to use plastic and go into the Y joint in the stack.

If you are not moving the toilet to a different location, then you can break the flange off the pipe, remove the lead and oakum, slide a new flange onto the pipe, and then remelt the lead, (after sealing the joint with new oakum), and pour the joint.: I am remoldling my bathroom, when I removed the floor the flange for the toilet broke.
