I hope you like ticking, because it is the pipe, (probably the hot water one), expanding as the water passes through it and heats it up. Once it is up to the full water temperature, the expansion, and therefore the ticking ceases until the water is turned off. At that point the opposite occurs and the pipe begins contracting as the water and the pipe start to cool off. The noise can continue until the pipe is the same temperature as the environment. There is no cure other than opening the ceiling and removing the material that the pipe is sliding against.: When I run water in any focuet I hear a very loud ticking (rapid) in the ceiling. This noise seems to get slower after a minuet or so. Also the noise seems to echo down the hall. (tick…Tick..TickTick…TickTick) : The noise will continue very slowly after we turn the water off reducing to a tick every couple of minuets for up to an hour after. : HELP! Any ideas? Thanx : Keith
