I live in Ga and want to replace my galvaized with copper. All of the work is in an accessible crawl space. I would like to use flexible copper (type L or K?) because of less connections. Is this appropriate or is rigid copper better? Also, will there be higher copper leaching into the water with flexible Vs rigid copper?

Either way is fine. If you have never soldered before you may be wise to check with a plumbing contractor for this work. If not properly done you could have problems down the road.

Copper tubing comes in 60′ rolls and is soft. This tubing is usually Type L and is ample for placing in your attic.

Check local codes as a lot of codes DO NOT allow the use of soft (coil) copper for water supply.

Type L is fine above ground
