Our Crane toilet tank recently cracked, and we replaced it with a Crane Radcliffe model tank. Since then, the toilet has not flushed properly. Water poured into the bowl manually flushes away quickly and well. The holes that allow water to flow into the toilet are not blocked. Weve snaked it, and removed the toilet, and the pipes beneath are not blocked. It seems that somehow the new tank is smaller, and theres not enough water reaching the bowl quickly enough to provide a good flush. Is this possible? How do we fix it?

Your problem is that the old tank was a 3.5 or 5 gallon version. The only tanks made now are 1.6 gallon, and they are not large enough to flush the old bowls. Most manufacturers designed the new tanks so they would not fit the old bowls just for that reason. You will have to replace the bowl also. Buying the bowl and tank separately is usually more expensive than buying the entire combination so go back to the store and see if they will give you the package price for buying the bowl also.: Our Crane toilet tank recently cracked, and we replaced it with a Crane Radcliffe model tank. We recently bought a Crane tank too and have the same flushing problem and agree that it is the tank that is the problem.: Our Crane toilet tank recently cracked, and we replaced it with a Crane Radcliffe model tank.
