Additional hot water heater

        I am in need of additional hot water. Would it be best to install a 2nd 40/50 gallon
        water heater to preheat for my currently installed 40 gallon or install a tankless water heater
        to preheat?

          Carl, Give us some additional information. How many bathrooms? Are they full or half? A kitchen, laundry machine? Does the hot water go upstairs, downstairs? How large a house is it, square feet? Are their children? How many adults? And finally, how old is the existing water heater?
