cast iron base board radiator

There is water leaking from one section of my cast iron baseboard radiator; the heating system is fairly old. A plumber applied epoxy resin to a hairline crack he discovered. However, to my chagrin, it did not to stop the leak. My radiator also makes a loud pinging noise when the heat is coming up. Do I need to change the valve? Or, do I need to change the entire section where its leaking? Help!!Thank you.AH
