My Ruud/Rheem model PE52-2 is putting green (when wet)(white when dry) deposits in the filter screens at taps and the wash machine. No deposits noted in the cold water lines. What is the cause?

Check if the particles melt, smoke, burn when you put a match to them. If so then its plastic from the diptube in your hotwater heater. If no reaction to the heat then probably mineral deposits from HWH-need to flush them out.
