Buying a house that has been empty for 5 months, water line for refrigerator is clear and there is obvious bacterai/fungus/whatever growing in the line….I am definitely replacing the line….anybody have a recommendation for cleaning the interior lines in the refrigerator that go to the ice maker and water dispenser…..Thanks.

Look in the phone book for a local refrigeration supplier. Use the ice-maker cleanout chemicals as directed by the manufacturer.

If you plan on adding an RO system to purify the water running through the icemaker. May I suggest a manifold that would allow you to disinfect your icemaker line on a regular basis. http://www.roconn.com/connectors.htm
