KeymasterI have a house that was equipped with poly-butylene plumbing and have already had several problems, I was told by a plumber and my ins. company that there have been several class-action lawsuits regarding this material.
Could you please point me in the direction of who I can talk to to participate in the class-action? Any help that you could provide would be most appreciated.

I would be very interested to hear from concerning the problems with your Pb plumbing. ie time since instalation, corrosion, incorrectly installed etc
I am lawyer and I am presently litigating the same issue.
Looking forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience

ParticipantI am interested in learning more from both of you. I purchased a townhome two years ago, moving in about 18 months ago. I am having problems with my pb plumbing (connecting joints are coming apart). My home is 15 years old.
I’m afraid I’ve missed my chance to be part of one of the class action suits. Is this true? -

ParticipantScott Trueman,
Do you have a web site or other internet based material source I could link to?
I frequently get this question and currently have several links, however, I would appreciate more information on the current status, time limitations, etc., of PB liability claims.

ParticipantI have been informed that I qualify for the replumb under one of the lawsuits referred to above. I would be interested in hearing comments or suggestions as to what type of plumbing I should replace the polybutylene system with: CPVC, pex, or copper.
Any suggestions?

ParticipantIf water conditions allow GO COPPER type L above ground and K below ground.
Thankfully I never used plastic for any water supply and only on acid system for drainage (under duress).
I work for several Manhattan law firms going after the “plastic specialists” and to use plastic the plumber deserves everything that the law allows for PUNISHMENT
