Possibly, but first check to see if you are getting an unusual pressure buidup in the system, particularly the hot side. If so, then the valve is just doing what it is supposed to do, namely bleed off excess pressure.: The pressure relief valve on my 6 year old 55 gal. electric hot water heater is constantly bleeding off hot water. I replaced the valve about a year ago and the bleeding recently started again. Do I need to replace the valve once again? Thank you.
