I am renovating a 1915 bungalow. The house currently has electric baseboard heat (expensive and ugly) and I would like to rip that out and put in old-style hot water radiators, with a central boiler for the water heat source. I have even thought of going to a salvage yard to get old radiators, cleaning them, and using a new boiler. First I would ask if this seems a reasonable idea. Then, I would ask how to clean out old radiators (remove scale, deposits, rust, etc) and keep them free of new deposits buildup during use. Any comments?

Simple sand blast the out side of these GREAT heaters and find out the PH of your water system..

Normally a hydronics system doesnt need any chemical additives.
