MemberWe ixed our toilet last week because the cistern was leaking water into the bowl the whole time. Now we have no leak but we have to hold the button down whilst flushing otherwise the seal snaps shut straight away. How can I fix this? Is it easy?

NO responsibility can or will be taken. And yes, I am a licensed plumber with my own business in Brisbane Australia

ParticipantUsually that is caused by the chain being too long or the trip lever wearing out and not moving far enough to raise the ball all the way. But the other cause could be if you slid the new unit over the pipe and also used the two tabs on the side of the pipe. If so, cut the end off where it says CUT and put it back on the two tabs.: We ixed our toilet last week because the cistern was leaking water into the bowl the whole time.
