Hello all I have a problem with my home gas furnace. The main burners will light and then go out after about 10-15 seconds, and then re-ignite and go out, over and over. This is before the main blower comes on. Now, I know its not the Limit switch, Ive checked that, (the temp does not get that high in that short of time for it to kick in and Ive put a VOM on it to test it.) Ive cleaned the entire furnace including the heat exchanger coils. It will just cycle like this for 15 min or so and will eventually perform a normal heat cycle with the main burners lighting, stayling lit, and the blower operating. The furnace has an electronic pilot, and I think that may be the problem because perhaps the sensor is telling the gas valve to shut down at the wrong time. I just need to know if Im on the right track. (I had a service guy out and he was worthless…long story) Thanks for the help in advance.

It may not be the electronic system telling the burner to shut down, but more likely the burner is interferring with the pilot and flame sensor, giving a flame failure signal which would turn the gas off. : Hello all : I have a problem with my home gas furnace.
