Just had the old water lines replaced with new copper. The hot (not cold) water is now reddish brown. Any info on why and how to correct would be appreciated.

It sounds like you did not replace the water heater. If this is the case, and it is a fairly new heater ( under 6 years) I would try to flush and clean the water heater. If over 6 years, replace it with new.
          Good Luck,

The water heater is 23 years old and has been replaced. Thank you for your help.
