My husband and I have a rental house that is over fifty years old. After the last tenant left, we noticed the hot water faucets were only producing 1/4 of the water they should. The cold water was fine. We drained the hot water tank (to no avail). The water in this area has a hight content of minerals. Any ideas as to what we should do?

Linda:–If I understand your post correctly, all faucets are deficient in hot water output (?). If such is the case, I would suggest a close examination of the water heater. Especially the outlet side of the water heater. It is not uncommon for the minerals present in the water to occlude the opening. If your water heater utilizes a heater T on the out let side into which the temperature and pressure releif valve is screwed check it and the tank opening for mineral deposits. Be sure to turn off the power or gas and the water before attempting to check these places out…lots of luck..Ahrmand…
