I have a tenant who put onion peels in one and jammed it upNote: Potato peeling are very bad, when using a disposer, you have to get a mental picture of this thing being like a blender, then imagine what you would want to put in it, carrots for instance, when the blender is turned on you get a nice soft mush, mush is ok if you dilute it, but by itself will clog a drain. What I am saying is to Always run water while the disposer is running and then allow the water to run a little longer after the disposer is turned off. The disposer itself, will take about anything you put in it, the drains it dumps into will not take just anything. So be careful about running plenty of water when using the machine.
