Sump Pump

We purchased our home new about five years ago. When the sump pump came on before, it always made a loud noise, like the motor turned on, and then it clunked off. Within the past month or so, whenever the sump pump comes on, the pipe from it rattles back and forth and it sounds like someone is banging on the pipes. Is this normal? Should I be worried? Despite heavy recent rains, our basement has been dry as a bone.
