I have an old one pipe steam radiator system. I am renovating my attic and want to put in baseboard heating on the same system (replacing an old radiator). I have 1 1/4″ black pipe from the existing radiator. Is there a baseboard unit that works with steam? I usually see only hot water systems. If so, how to install, any thing to keep in mind? Any help/advice would be appreciated, thanks

YOu might hear from someone who has tried it, but I think you will find that it does not work satisfactorilly on a one pipe steam system. The internal passages are normally too small for the steam and condensate to co-exist as is required by a one pipe system and the radiation would have to be installed at an angle to get the required slope for condensate flow.
