I am looking for a sensor that will activate a valve on the main water supply and shut off the water to prevent a flood.

There is a new product on the market called the “Watercop”.
Check at http://www.watercop.com for more information. Marty

Is sounds good but I would prefer a hard wired system. Know of any? Thanks

I have heard of a hardwired system but do not know of the name. The beauty of the watercop system is the portability of the system. The sensors can be relocated without having to any rewiring. Or if you decide to relocate, the system can go with you. The main shut-off valve has to be removed from the line and the line repiped.
