When summer arrived, I shut off the main switch that powers the pump on my hot water tank. This pump of course supplies the hot water for the in-floor heating system. Now, that fall has arrived, I flipped the electric swithch on, the pump started to run but no heat. The tank is lit and has hot water in it, but when I try to open the valve to expel water, very little comes out. There is no pressure in the system and the pipes running into the floor are cold. The pump, on the other hand is very hot. We have tried turning taps and knocking on pipes but to no avail. Again, all I did in the summer was to turn off the electric switch that supplies power to the pump. I am lost as this is my first confontation with hot water heating. Any advice would be most welcome.
