Ive bought a house that has an septic tank/leech bed system On slightly breezy days i notice an odor down wind.Ive checked the tank for sludge..its fine.Ive checked the area for any wet spots..none.This odor seems to be only in area of the tank/ distribution box.Is this normal.

Two things you can do–One, extend your vent stack a foot or so higher. Two, install a 90 degree bend on your sewer pipe inside the septic. The second one is nasty to do but it works. Good luck.
