I have a 26 year old gas water heater that has not been drained to remove sediment in over 10 years. I have no current problems with the heater. Can I Drain the sediment from the heater without damaging the Tank? The tank is flexing when water is pulled from the tank and new water is added.

From the information given, I am surprised that breathing near the water heater doesn’t damage it. Change it now.
