MemberWe have a clayton mark pressure tank (aprox.18diam x 24high) with the problem of cycling on and off at short intervals (1 sec on,4 sec off,on @ 30psi/off @43psi).We do have water coming out of the air valve.we drained some water out and precharged it to 28psi.We only use the well once a day at our farm to water stock. Will it hurt the well to run it this way for a while? We just replaced the motor start capacitor and overload protector which were defective. Can anyone give us some advice? what brands or makes of tanks are good? and what do we need to know about replacing the tank ? does the pump have to be primed when the tank is replaced? Thanks for your help. Nancy

ParticipantIf water comes out of the air valve, then the rubber diaphragm is ruptured. If you pump air into the tank, then you are using it just like a non-bladder tank. It will work fine until the air is absorbed, after several months at least, and then air will have to be injected again. If this routine is not objectionable, then you do not have to replace the tank.: We have a clayton mark pressure tank (aprox.18diam x : 24high) with the problem of cycling on and off at short : intervals (1 sec on,4 sec off,on @ 30psi/off @43psi).We do have : water coming out of the air valve.we drained some water out and : precharged it to 28psi.We only use the well once a day at our farm : to water stock. Will it hurt the well to run it this way for a : while?
