While trying to unclog main drain, a commercial plumber discovered what he thinks is a collapsed or shifted line. The snake only reached 35 ft. before bumping up against something. Im having a camera run to pinpoint the problem. If it is collapsed, what can be done without going bankrupt?

You can do one of several options. The first, and most expensive, is to have a contractor dig under your house along the line and replace it.The second is to contact a company that can insert a tool into the line and reline it with a plastic or rubber compound.Thirdly, if the appliance served is on an outside wall, you could dig under the edge of the house, seal off the old line at the break, and run a new line around the ouside of the slab. This is usually the cheapest option.Contact your insurance company for guidance.
