I have a leak in the ceiling below the bathroom/shower. I have done all the tests recommended by the plumber and now that we have a hole in the ceiling to observe no leak appears. You can see stains where it had leaked before but nothing now. I am stuck as to what to do. I hate to repair something ie the shower tiles unless I am close to certain that is the problem. The plumber said something about condensation. The amount of water in the leak seemed extreme for condensation. Could condensation from the occasional use of a shower come through a plaster ceiling??? What else should I check??

Unless you have a very humid area, and were taking ice cold showers, there was no condensation. But the leak can travel from a distance and show up at the lowest point of the ceiling. You are just not duplicating the conditions which cause the leak.: I have a leak in the ceiling below the bathroom/shower.
