Toilet refill noise

Upon noticing a slight running water noise in our 7 year old toilet, I finally had to replace the fill valve. Everything seems to be operating fine, however just as the tank is about finished filling, there is a loud screaming noise until the filling has completed. What is the cause and how can I correct it?
