Water started leaking from drain valve on bottom of water heater. Faucet was open. Pop off valve did
not pop off. Should drain valve be
open? -
A lot of cheap manufacturers are using GARBAGE hose cocks for the H/W heater blow down.
The good brass ones do work the CHEAP plastic crap seep after they are opened once or twice.The relief valve should be tested yearly.
You should also consider one of the following.
1- Have a LMP replace this valve
2- Go out buy a brass cap by Hose bibb threads and cap this valve
