Unfortunately, you cannot do a proper job without tearing out at least some of the wall tile. The safety pan has to go up the walls at least as high as the door sill. The taper is installed when you construct the mortar bed for the tile.: hi! my shower floor fell in,(or under) and i was wondering,How is the best way to put it back without tearing out all of the existing tile in the shower?Ive so far redone all the subflooring myself, but what about a drainpan?and how can I give it that taper that is vital to proper drainage?PLEASE HELP!!!!:)
