There is no right spot. Change the core. The palstic ones will operate easily for a longer time, but they will start leaking sooner than the brass ones.: Our faucets are getting harder to push and pull. Tried cleaning and lubricating but evidently did not get to right spot. Please help.
BUY A MOEN 1225 MAGNUM CARTRIDGE. FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS INCLUDED. OLD MOEN CARTRIDGES CAN BE VERY HARD TO PULL OUT. SPRAY GENEROUSLY WITH HAIR SPRAY (NOT WD 40) AND YANK STRAIGHT UP HARD WITH CHANNEL LOCKS.
THE ONLY CARTRIDGE PULLING TOOL FOR MOEN THAT I KNOW OF IS CHANNEL LOCKS. THEY WORK THE BEST AND YOU DONT WORRY ABOUT DAMAGING THE CARTRIDGE BECAUSE YOU ARE THROWING IT AWAY WHEN YOU GET IT OUT. DO YOU KNOW OF A BETTER WAY?? IF SO , KINDLY ADVISE
Moen does make a cartreage pulling tool. I dont have its part number. But it does make pulling them a lot easier, and you dont risk pulling hte valve body out of the wall.PS: all caps is shouting on line.
