water well

Need advice about my water well. The water well in question has been in service 15 years trouble free, until recently I now have sand coming up through the water, sometimes worse than others. I know a small amount of sand is normal but this goes beyond what I would call normal. I am thinking about raising my pump a couple of feet it is now at 150 feet. Will this help or not? Any suggestions??

You may have a failing well screen. Raising the pump may help but probably not. Have the well checked by competent well driller or two. Sand separation devices are availble for the pump.
