I am joining schedule 40 PVC Type 1 to an existing soil line in my basement. The existing run is marked as Genova and PVC-1120. What is the best way to join these runs? Can I use the same Type 1 or Type 2 epoxy (even though it does not appear to be marked type 1 or type 2), is there a special union fitting, or should I just use a rubber coupling?

Scott: When in doubt, use a Fernco Coupling (rubber coupling) If you prefer to join the two PVC lines more permanently, use a PVC coupling of the appropriate size, and use a general purpose PVC cement..Bud..
