        Trying to replace kitchen faucet, but having trouble removing the 6 or 8 sided nut from the hollow tube that the water lines go thru to bottom of faucet. (Faucet is 22 years old) Seems to be some gunk build-up on nut. Have basin wrench but can’t break nut loose.

          Sounds like the service nut you are talking about, if you have copper tube in the cupboard. Cut the tube where you have some space and use a couple of compression unions and a short piece of pipe to connect to the new combination
