I have very low hot water pressure. Cold water is high , just hot water is low . Does it have something to do with my hot water heater and if so what could it be ? The water here in Las Vegas is very hard . Thanks :-)

Steve: Check the fitting that screws into the top of your water heater on the hot side. This will require shutting off the water and power or gas. Cut the hot water line in a place that will allow you to use a compression fitting instead of soldering it if you dont have the equipment. In most cases you will find a mineral deposit in this fitting or in the tank outlet fitting, that restricts the flow of water out of the tank. Simply knock this material out of the way and reassemble. If you dont find anything in the hot side, check the plastic dip tube on the coldwater side directly below the cold water inlet fitting. In rare instances, this tube will become distorted or crushed, and slow the water entering the heater,if so replace the dip tube. Bud
