We have a loud huming noise which makes the walls vibrate in our upstairs bathroom. We have turned off the toilet water to stop this temporarily. Could this be a build up of air pressure in the pipes? How can we best take care of this?

Your toilet fill valve is defective. Replace it and the noise will go away.: We have a loud huming noise which makes the walls vibrate in our upstairs bathroom. We have a similar problem but the noise comes and goes. One interesting thing is that when I hear the humming noise, I can get it go away by turning on one of the faucets. Any comments?
