Rooter man tells me that my sewer pipe has collapsed. To replace this line do I need to dig up the old line or can I abandon most of it and run a new line parallel to the old one? Connecting at the house and city line only.
Bill: No reason at all why you cant run alongside of existing sewer line. Just dont make any abrupt changes in direction when its time to tie the ends in. If you will allow 10 at either end, you can drift the new pipe into allignment for the final connections without the use of any additional fittings at the tap or house. Lots of luck with your project….Bud
