A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO THE BREAKER TRIPPED ON THE WATER HEATER IT’S SELF.
Since then I have been unable to
control the water temp. It’s turning out 180F water.
I have tried replacing the upper
themostat last night but it’s
still cranking out the scalding water. I choose the top becaus this was the area where the most heat was being generated. Guess I was wrong. is it time to change out the bottom? Do they still Make this Brand??? -
If you have changed one and its still a problen, then the other one would be the way to go

Do not just change things willy nilly. Test the item first. The most likely problem is that one of the elements, most likely the bottom one, has burned out and is operating without thermostat control. Test it and replace it if it is bad.
