Just bought a house. When you flush the toilet in the basement, after the pump kicks on and off, the pipes rattle something fierce. Any suggestions?

Sure I suggest you get a soft seat CHECK Valve OR A lift check Valve instead of a swing check.
The after shock your most lightly hearing is the THUD of the check closing.
They also make another type of connection that asorbs this hydraulic shock wave BUT try these cheaper idea’s 1st Good Luck
