I have a Woodford frost proof sill cock that leaks from the handle. But it only leaks when under pressure (for example, when a hose is attached and the water is turned on but the spray gun on the other end of the hose is not open). I have tried tightening the nut to no avail. I guess its a bad seal or packing or something just under the handle. Can anyone tell me what I need to replace and/or where I can get Woodford sill cock replacement parts? Does anyone know of an exploded parts illustration I can refer to? How about plumbers putty – will that work? How about oakum – will that work?

Woodford parts are available.As far as your problem it sounds like you have to replace the packing. we have all the parts breakdowns for the woodford valves. Why don’t you go to our website and email us so we can get you the correct parts breakdown.
