Im installing a wash machine upstairs and have a 25 foot run to the 4 inch main drain that runs to the basement floor. Is 1 1/2 pvc big enough to handle the water. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You will need to use 2″ pipe PLUS you will need to vent the line (within 8′ of the washer standpipe and trap). You should check local codes in your area though.

You will need a 2″ stand pipe and 2″ trap and the trap must be with in 24″ and connected to a vented line BUT the fixture (washing machine) can be located 2 ft from the trap so in reality you have 4 feet to play with. CHECK your local codes
