My dishwasher does not take up water. The water supply is there, there are no kinks in the tubing. What should I look at next?

By taking up water I am assuming you are saying that the water stays IN the dishwasher. That probably means you need a new pump or your control is not working. OR if you mean that no water enters the dishwasher that generally means that the solenoid valve needs to be replaced or (again) your control isnt working.
