noise in the water lines

Whenever I use any of the fixtures in the house, a deep “foghorn” sound rumbles through the house via the water pipes. Sometimes the noise will occur even when not using the water.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Check the in coming pressure and your pipe size. What your checking for is velocity

Also check for excessive runs of pipe NOT supported properly.

A lot of stumble bums use band iron or even worse crap to support piping and this is what sets up some of the piping failures you hear about.

You may want to look it proper supports and an air chamber to take up for possible poor system designs
