We are in the process of remodeling our bathroom. There was already baseboard heat installed, the kind with hot water, that runs through the entire house. My question is….if we leave all of the baseboards in place, can we cut the back of a sink vanity to fit around the baseboard, or is it dangerous to close of the heating vent that way?

There is no danger, but unless there is a way for air to circulate through the baseboard you will lose the heat from the portion that is covered.

No physical danger BUT not only will you lose lots of heat BUT you risk the possibility of doing damage to the vanity especially if it is pressure treated wood that gets wet THEN heated from this piping will warp like crazy and THEN possibly cause lots of mildew to grow in the un vented space under this vanity. You may want to increase the radiation area to make sure your bathroom gets enough heat.
