I recently had a sewer back-up through the drain my basement during a heavy rainstorm (note: I have a catch basis in my front yard). In my search to prevent this from happening again I have been told that I need everything from the complete installation of back-flow valves on my sewer lines at a cost of $4,000 to a stand pipe in the basement drain at a cost of approx. $150. But, I have also been told the stand pipe will cause my pipes to burst or my floor to crack. Help. Give me some advice.
