I know that septic tanks are typically placed close to a house. I would like to place one downhill from my planned house site at a distance of about 40 ft., and with a drop in elevation of appx.10 ft. Will this type of placement cause any problems in normal waste flow into the septic tank? Is there a maximum distance from house to septic tank beyond which a tank should not be placed?
