When hot water is used pipes in house rattle and rumble terribly. 70 year old house. Gas hot water heater. Is this something I can fix myself? Someone told me to release a, I believe its an emergency relief valve, located above water heater to let air out of lines, but I am hesitant. Any suggestions?

Any suggestions?Could be as simple as a loose washer in one of your faucets, try and isolate the noise. Let me know if I can be of further assisstance.Ken
