Vent stacks are designed to remove foul gases from our septic tank drain lines and allow the water to flow to the septic tank. The higher the vent stack the less likely you are to smell the gases…..except….the stack uses the heat from your home to keep ice from plugging the stack. A high stack will plug with ice. Heat tape or any direct source of possible heat ignition is not an option…(vent stack gases can explode and burn). Your only option is a passive, odor absorbing/destroying SWEET FILTER.
