We do it all the time. Just be sure to discharge the safety valve to a safe location.: : My fater-in-law is adding a bathroom that is very far from his hot water heater. In order to cut down on the delay for hot water, he is thinking of placing a small (2 or 3 gallon) heater in this room that is supplied by the main water heater. In other words, he is placing the heaters in series. Is this alright and will it work?
