I have odor when taking a shower that is definately the septic tank. We bought the house around 7 months ago and the 1000 gallon redwood tank was pumped then. We discovered the smell a couple of months ago and are having the tank pumped again this week. Any idea why the thing smells only when we take a shower. Also, we have since made the washer drain into a grey water system but I think the thing filled up do to over use and an inadequate leach system. We live in Boulder Creek, CA and there are a lot of trees on our land. Any thing you could suggest would help. Email me if you have time : : : : Any suggestions on how I might eliminate this odor problem coming from the roof vent?: : : : Thanks, Bob Julian : : : Dear Bob: : : : Get a SWEET FILTER for your vent pipe. E-mail me for availability : : Jim, : : We have a similar problem please send more info on Sweet Filter: The City of Las Vagas Nevada requires the sweet vent on all plumbing vents through roof. As a plumbing engineer I have never heard of this vent cap, could you e-mail me more info?
