Hi,
I already posted this question in a DIY forum, but I’m also looking for advice from a more specialized source. This forum seemed like a good place to start.
I recently discovered a backwater valve in my basement. It is a “normally closed” type valve and it protects all the drains located in the basement (but not the main “column” which goes to the first floor, but this doesn’t matter for obvious reasons).
Now, I’m currently in the process of renovating the basement bathroom. Before I level the concrete floor and install the tiles, I was wondering if this backwater valve is still in good shape or if I should replace it. What do you think?
